The Red Bougainvillea

Description : I painted four distinct doors, each representing one of the language regions in Switzerland: German, French, Italian, and Romansh. Each painting in this series captures the unique language and lifestyle of its region. The inspiration for this beautiful painting came from the entry door to a Benedictine monastery where I spent a week during my last visit back home in the german part of Switzerland. It was a meditative and relaxing stay, sharing everyday life with the monks and engaging in some very interesting philosophical discussions. Each painting is sold individually, and the photo showing all four doors together lets you see how they look as a set(1 now sold). It comes with beautifully floating frame in an oak and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Heidi’s journey with Australia began in 1988, when she moved from Zürich, Switzerland, and fell in love with the country’s laid-back lifestyle and breathtaking landscapes. Enchanted by the vastness and rugged beauty of her new surroundings, she soon began expressing her impressions through art, particularly oil painting.

Now residing in Brisbane's outer region, Heidi draws endless inspiration from the surrounding bushland and its vibrant wildlife. Her works blend these landscapes with experiences from her travels, infusing her paintings with a dynamic mix of natural beauty and multicultural influences. This ever-evolving artistic expression brings her deep joy, allowing her to reflect on life's changes and channel her emotions into her art. Each piece carries a personal and emotional significance, which has recently led her to explore a new, spiritually inspired body of work.
