Beneath The Lilac Moon

Description : This is a multi-layered impressionist piece. I used an intuitive art process with this one and as such, had no pre-conceived ideas about colours or subject matter, preferring to be led by my subconscious in the flow state and allowing the viewer also, to be free to interpret. Ready to hang unframed.

    Robyn Holtham

Robyn trained as a Gold & Silversmith in the School of Art at RMIT in the '70s and has been making wearable art for most of her life until recently, when a worsening spinal condition made this too difficult. Her jewellery pieces are held in both public and private collections here in Australia, as well as overseas.

In 2003, she moved to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia where she established a successful cafe and gallery showcasing her own work and that of other artists.

In 2011, Robyn sold her business and moved south of Adelaide close to the coast and the Onkaparinga River.

It was during the Covid lockdowns, that she and a friend discovered an on-line painting group run by Sydney Artist Gabbi Lancaster. With the guidance of Gabbi and the group, Robyn then began to explore various different techniques painting in acrylics first on paper and then canvas. She held her first painting Exhibition titled 'In The Flow', with friend and colleague Andie Merrigan, at The Arts Centre, Port Noarlunga SA.

Always having been inspired by the natural world, it's beauty and it's fragility, regardless of medium, Robyn is now finding new inspiration in the Loddon River environment. Her first local Art Exhibition, was held at the Old Coach House Gallery in Wedderburn in August 2023.

Robyn and her partner Corrie moved to Inglewood in 2022 and are gradually becoming established in the Loddon Shire, where they have chosen to retire.
