Growing up with a parent who was an exhibiting artist was a gift in many ways. In those years, I entered competitions and attended art classes as well.

As a teen, I took art as a subject and remember creating an installation in a small room in the garage, scoring top marks!!

Being rather enterprising, in my first year out of school, I sold hand-drawn gift cards at a trendy clothing store in Fortitude Valley, called 'The Upstairs Room'.

However, I would not pursue art as more than a hobby until much later in life...

In 2004, the art bug bit me hard enough that I got myself a studio at The Metro Arts, and began a series of paintings, culminating in a successful (2 month) exhibition in The Verve Cafe in 2005, called 'A Doorway to Other Dimensions'. I sold almost every piece of work!

Following this, I joined and exhibited with The Cupboard group of artists in The Metro Arts for about two years.

Meantime, I had gained a sizeable commission, which kept me busy. Then art became a hobby again, as I undertook a double degree at university. During my writing major, I studied Illustration.

In 2021 I began painting a new series in acrylics, called 'Dot on a Canvas' (ongoing), and in early 2022, also started a limited series of works in pastels, called 'Secret paths'.
